Sr. Financial Analyst Physician Services

Job Description:
- Administer the general accounting financial and statistical reporting functions of the Medical Group following established policies and accounting procedures.
- Manage the physician compensation program within contract parameters.
- Develop the annual budget for the Medical Group in line with the short and longrange plans of the Medical Group and Health System.
- Continuously review and enhance internal controls in the Medical Group as needed.
- Train subordinates in relevant areas and monitor performance to ensure fiscal responsibilities are met.
- Assist the VP of Physician Services and Hospital CFO in developing long and shortrange operations plans including service demand resources availability and costbenefit analyses.
- Prepare cash flow analyses and budget variance analyses.
- Assist with monthend closing processes as needed.
- Monitor interpret and analyze Medical Group financial performance to meet established plans and hospital objectives.
- Identify and report undesirable trends and potential business opportunities making recommendations for action.
- Direct the preparation of internal financial reports including work papers for the annual financial audit.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports that reliably reflect the hospitals financial position.
- Lead efforts to reduce Medical Group operating costs and increase revenues based on market trends financial reports and operating procedures.
- Oversee the timely submission of all financial data and associated reports required by government and regulatory agencies public disclosure reports and thirdparty payor cost reports.
- Analyze assess and implement cost accounting rules using appropriate methodologies to accurately capture and maintain procedural costs for Medical Group operations.
- Educate internal and external customers on the methodologies behind cost accounting data and its appropriate use.
- Direct financial reporting and analysis using decision support data.
- Prepare a monthly operating report summary working with the VP of Physician Services and the practice operations team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance with knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and strong verbal interpersonal and quantitative skills.
- CPA and/or masters degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a senior financial executive in a medical group setting.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive management experience in an investorowned healthcare organization.
- Strong handson and approachable leadership style valuing teamwork with an outgoing and friendly personality.
- Ability to motivate and inspire staff to achieve optimal results while maintaining high employee satisfaction.
