What does the job involve
Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement a strategic technology roadmap aligned with the companys objectives.
- Lead the Software Engineering and IT departments promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across departments to transform business needs into effective technology solutions.
- Manage technology resources budgets and timelines to maximize efficiency and ensure project delivery.
Software Development
- Champion Agile methodologies to enhance software development and project management processes.
- Uphold high standards for software quality through adherence to best practices and robust security protocols.
- Facilitate a continuous integration and deployment pipeline to optimize software delivery cycles.
- Design and oversee a comprehensive automated testing framework.
IT Infrastructure & Security
- Oversee the management and enhancement of the IT infrastructure to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Develop a robust cybersecurity strategy to mitigate risks and protect against cyber threats.
- Continuously monitor IT security to safeguard company data and ensure system integrity.
Data Management
- Implement a Master Data Management (MDM) strategy to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
- Promote effective data governance and design advanced database architectures for optimized data analysis.
- Establish and maintain a data warehousing system for enhanced data storage and analysis.
Talent Management & Team Building
- Attract mentor and retain top technology talent ensuring the teams ability to scale and innovate.
- Develop effective onboarding and professional development programs for team members and external vendors.
- Manage relationships with thirdparty vendors and consultants aligning their deliverables with strategic goals.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in senior technology leadership ideally within a fastpaced startup environment.
- Strong expertise in cloud computing software development life cycles and DevOps practices.
- Proficient in API design system integration and logistics software solutions.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a commitment to communication and strategic decisionmaking.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations relevant to the African continent.
- Proven ability to manage geographically distributed teams and attract top technology talent.
