Electrical Systems Engineer

Electrical Systems Engineer needed for a large manufacturing company in the Knoxville TN area. This is a Direct Hire position and offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package. Starting salary range is $84000 to $105000.

The Electrical Systems Engineer will manage the research design development and testing of electrical and mechanical systems used on Marine systems. Must be proficient in DC systems Electrical schematics utilizing a variety of equipment for accessing troubleshooting CAN bus devices and repairing electrical systems. The qualified candidate will be responsible for new product innovation of electrical systems that include but are not limited to innovative designs operating systems and power distribution systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manage new product design and continuous improvement of inboat electrical systems and operating systems.

Confer with management production sales and purchasing to determine engineering feasibility cost effectiveness and customer demand for new and existing products.

Develop and maintain technical drawings and specifications.

Assume the lead engineering role on multiple assigned projects including operating systems switches sensors and other powered systems.

Responsible for the preparation and daily management of estimates cost reports and project schedules for multiple projects and suppliers

Regularly identify opportunities for product improvements and reengineer designs to enhance the form fit and function of current and new designs.

Establish validation standards develop testing protocols and document test results for electrical and supporting mechanical systems. Direct and coordinate supplier compliance with specifications.

Use engineering and computer design software specifically AutoCAD and Solidworks

Ensure proper crossdepartmental coordination and effective communication of all assigned projects.

Develop and direct test scopes involving multiple supplier interactions and facilitate integrated test plans for inboat field testing.

Requirements :

Education & Experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• 6 years of experience in Electrical Engineering Systems
• Experience in AutoCAD (Required)
• Experience with Solidworks (Highly preferred)
• Experienced with developing Wiring Harness schematics
• Strong computer skills
• Knowledgeable in NMMA SAE NMEA and IEEE standards
