Job Overview
This procurement team is looking for a buyer/procurement professional with a minimum of 2 years of experience in sourcing negotiating pricing and purchasing noncommodity ingredients. This resource will be responsible for helping the team streamline their procurement operations assist in doing research to identify new vendors analyze the pricing of required ingredients and find solutions that work best to ensure new products are ready for production. This resource will also be responsible for scheduling material shipping and working with plant and comanufacturing teams to ensure the production process goes as smoothly as possible.
Responsible for the purchasing of noncommodity ingredients:
- Sourcing Negotiating Contracting being able to find materials and negotiate terms that meet business requirements
- Supplier management the ability to build beneficial supplier relationships while holding suppliers accountable to meet our supply quality and competitive pricing needs.
- Work directly with A/P Finance Suppliers and Stakeholders to collect necessary documents for New Vendor setups.
- Identifies cost innovation and productivity improvements.
- Interfaces with other ACH departments including Operations Marketing Product Development and Quality.
Responsible for scheduling incoming materials to the plant and comanufacturers:
- Issuing POs to vendors for incoming production material needs
- Working with vendors to adjust incoming material schedules to accommodate changes in timing or quantity.
- ERP contract & price maintenance and reconciling invoices for all noncommodity ingredients packaging and comanufacturers
- Working with plant and vendors for the return of materials and issuance of credits
- Working with the planning and inventory team to coordinate finished goods production at certain comanufacturers.
- Working with vendors to adjust incoming material schedules to accommodate changes in timing or quantity researching & reconciling inventory.
Qualifications:
- Ability to negotiate to deliver the best value of purchased material to the business.
- Prior experience in purchasing pricing vendor management and research price negotiations for ingredients/materials inventory management and tracking PO management and shipping scheduling.
- Min 24 yrs of experience as procurement specialist/buyer.
- Ability to function within/or lead crossfunctional teams.
- Ability to hold others accountable while building strong beneficial relationships.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Strong organizational skills
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management Business Finance or other related field preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of work experience within purchasing or a similar supply chain role with experience in pricing buying and vendor management.
Equipment/Software Skills:
- Strong SAP skills/experience; in Excel Word PowerPoint
