Biomedical Technologist Maritime Industry

We are seeking a Biomedical Technologists to join our team and provide biomedical services onboard cruise ships.

Responsibilities:

• Install calibrate and maintain biomedical equipment onboard cruise ships in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor the performance and functionality of medical devices ensuring optimal operation and adherence to quality standards in a maritime environment.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to identify and address issues proactively considering the unique challenges of operating at sea.
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on biomedical equipment diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions while onboard.
• Monitor equipment recalls and safety alerts coordinating with manufacturers and regulatory agencies as necessary to ensure compliance and passenger safety.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance repairs and service history onboard cruise ships.
• Source OEM parts and components as needed for equipment maintenance and repairs considering logistics challenges associated with maritime operations.
• Collaborate with onboard medical staff ship engineers and other stakeholders to support the effective use of medical technology and ensure passenger care continuity during voyages.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in biomedical engineering electronics or a related field. Relevant certifications or training programs may be considered.
• Proven experience in biomedical equipment management including installation maintenance and repairs in a maritime environment or similar challenging conditions.
• Strong technical skills and familiarity with a wide range of medical devices and equipment.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements related to biomedical equipment management with an understanding of maritime regulations and safety protocols.
• Excellent problemsolving abilities and attention to detail with the ability to adapt to the unique challenges of working onboard cruise ships.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders in a maritime setting.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively while onboard cruise ships demonstrating adaptability and resourcefulness in a dynamic environment.
