We are recruiting for a prestigious school in Beijing who are looking for an English Language Arts/Literature Teacher required to work with students from middle school grades 68 or high school grades 912 and to provide support for language development. Established in 2016 this K12 international school is situated at the base of the scenic and historic YuQuan Mountain in Haidian District Beijing. Spanning 200000 square meters the campus features enchanting gardens that seamlessly blend natural ecology cultural richness and contemporary aesthetics.

The School is organized into the Primary School grades K5 the Middle School grades 68 and high school grades 912. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Educations nineyear compulsory education program KWAs curriculum is built on strength from both Chinese and western education. For Primary and Middle School they follow a bilingual program using the US Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards along with the Chinese National Curriculum. For High School they follow the US Common Core and College Board AP curriculum and also offer the UK IGCSE and ALevel UK programs.

As a Language Arts International Teacher you will be responsible for creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment that fosters the development of language arts skills in an international context. This position involves designing and implementing curriculum assessing student progress and promoting a multicultural and inclusive atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Development:
   • Develop comprehensive and culturally diverse language arts curriculum that aligns with international standards.
   • Integrate language arts skills such as reading writing speaking and listening into lessons that cater to a diverse student body.
   • Reading and analyzing literature writing essays and reports understanding grammar rules exploring different types of texts (fiction nonfiction poetry) and honing critical thinking and communication skills.
2. Lesson Planning and Delivery:
   • Plan and deliver effective and interactive lessons that cater to different learning styles and proficiency levels.
   • Incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience.
3. Assessment and Evaluation:
   • Implement various assessment strategies to measure student progress and provide constructive feedback.
   • Conduct regular assessments including exams projects and presentations to gauge language proficiency and comprehension.
4. Cultural Sensitivity:
   • Foster a culturally sensitive and inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity.
   • Incorporate global perspectives into the curriculum to broaden students understanding of different cultures.
5. Language Development:
   • Focus on developing students language skills in both written and verbal forms.
   • Provide opportunities for language practice and fluency development through discussions debates and creative writing activities.
6. Parent and Community Engagement:
   • Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
   • Collaborate with the community to organize events that showcase students language arts achievements.
7. Professional Development:
   • Stay updated on current trends and best practices in language arts education.
   • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and contribute to the schools academic excellence.
8. Classroom Management:
   • Establish and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
   • Implement consistent and fair classroom management strategies.

Minimum Qualifications

• (For secondary ELA and primary international homeroom teachers): Must hold a passport from the US UK Australia New Zealand or Canada
• At least Fouryear degree from an accredited university prefer Master degree.
• PGCE or higher
• At least 3 years teaching experiences in English Literature.
