Backend Developer

The Role

At Seedlang were looking for a Rails developer to help us work on the Rails API that serves both our website and app. The position is focused on the backend but is also concerned with infrastructure and operations. There is also room to explore topics related to video processing and using AI services for product improvements.

We are open to hiring the selected candidate either on a freelance basis or through a contractual agreement.

Tasks

On our team you will be:

• Participating in product discussions.
• Developing new features.
• Enhancing our test suite.
• Performing performance analysis.
• Optimizing our code and server infrastructure.

Requirements

You are/have:

• Experience with: Ruby Rails Rspec Postgres Heroku AWS.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
• Great attention to detail.
• Highly independent and self motivated.
• Preferably: Experience with React and/or React Native.
• Ideally: A love for learning languages and gamified apps.

Seedlang has been founded by Jeremy in 2015 as a response to his struggle with learning German after moving to Berlin. He was later joined by Cari who has been teaching German through her Easy German YouTube channel.
