Cost Engineer

Your tasks

• Preparation of cost and product cost calculations
• Gather proposals specifications and related documents and liaise with stakeholders in order to convert specifications to cost estimates for new and current product
• Establish cost estimates of production processes and tooling costs and review alternatives or put forward recommendations for improvement
• Support all activities in cost estimating and take a proactive approach towards improvements
• Preparation of make and buy decisions Establish of ROI calculations as well as cost calculations for the whole product life cycle
• Participation in the area of project controlling
• Analysis of supplier quotes to identify negotiation possibilities
• Support material cost controlling with bottomup cost analysis of products processes or hole plants
• You will play a key role in developing our costing processes and existing cost accounting methods and procedures into an integrated cost management system as part of our digitalization initiative

Your profile

• Completed studies in the field of engineering science or comparable field
• At least 5 years of professional experience in a comparable position Experience gained at either a Tier 1 automotive supplier or automotive OEM ideally within Plastics and/or Metals is an advantage
• Knowledge of costs and comprehensive knowledge in the field of production processes assembly automation and willingness to ensure that your knowledge is always uptodate
• Knowledge of cost saving methods (e.g. with cost analysis VA/VE Designtocost techniques benchmark studies target costing)
• Welldeveloped analytical skills a solutionoriented through and independent working style
• Proficient use of Excel and ERP systems
• Fluent written and spoken business English German skills are preferable
