MUST be local to New York City.
Major Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting connectivity requirements for the Equities Trading desk.
- Setting up connectivity & onboarding clients for Equity Trading platform using FIX and other similar protocols;
- Performing electronic trading connectivity testing & certifications.
- Monitoring electronic trading systems and serverside software to ensure systems are working correctly.
- Identifying troubleshooting and responding to emergency situations impacting live trading.
- Working with the traders to understand & implement client connectivity requirements.
- Develop test plans for enhancements & new modules of vendor provided software. Work with users to certify enhancements.
- Escalating problems proactively and ensure all stakeholders are kept aware of issues and their development.
- Working with the vendor testing & deploying enhancements to the Equities trading systems.
- Creating and maintaining a knowledge base support scripts documentation and procedures.
- Supporting the applications that are used on trading desks.
Required Qualifications:
- 2 years IT support experience in the Equities electronic trading environment.
- 2 years of experience in FIX client connectivity and onboarding clients.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Must be comfortable using standard UNIX utilities to debug trace and problemsolve.
- Very strong troubleshooting debugging and analysis skills.
- Knowledge of FIX messaging protocol and be able to conduct client testing.
- Experience with and understanding of databases.
- VB/Excel/Perl/Bash and/or other scripting experience.
- Understanding of trade and market data feeds.
- Experience working on a trading floor supporting mission critical applications
- Strong educational background with BS / MS in Computer Science Engineering or related area.
Other Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Java ability to read code and make modifications is a plus.
