Firefighter - Fuels 13 Positions

Primary duties are using power tools to remove juniper and brush and will be required to fight fire under stressful conditions with hand and power tools from 816 hours. Other wild land fire related duties might involve fire prevention patrol detection or prescribed burning. The incumbent will also be involved with the maintenance and repair of firefighting tools equipment and facilities and will receive firefighting training. Other duties are directly connected with the control and extinguishment of fires and/or maintaining and using firefighter apparatus and equipment. The duties of these positions are so rigorous that employment is limited to physically vigorous individuals who meet established physical requirements. Required to pass a medical exam and an arduous fitness test. Must have a telephone or reliable message phone and be available and on call 24 hours a day during the fire season.
