Oversee prosecutorial criminal, civil, and juvenlie cases on behalf of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Oregon; advise Warm Springs Police Dept. and Public Safety General Mgr. on matters of tribal, state and federal laws/justice systems inc. Tribal Court opnions, case law and traditional law. Ensure case preparations for adult, civil, and juvenile cases going to the tribal courts for themselves and assigned peronnel. Prepare and monitor budgets; assist with drafting and recommending Tribal Code changes and additions; seek reform and improvement in administration of tribal justice system. Maintain confiedntiality. Establish and implement standards and protocols for juvenile cases, including but not limited to truancy, delinquency, juvenile in need of supervision, child neglest, child abuse, Indian Child Welfare cases remands to adult court and emancipation.
Direct supervision of assigned personnel; interactions with judges, defandants, witnesses, parties, others involved in cases, the public, coworkers; federal state and local prosectors, etc.; ensure adult and juvenile prosectutors operate objectively and effectively in the best interst of elders, adults, youth and children.
Requirements
Bachelors Degree in related field, 5 yrs. experience in law and or Tribal COurt and 3 yrs. supervisoy experience. Tribal member preference. No felony or misdemeanor convictions within the past 5 yrs. To include no violations fo tribal law.
