Our client, a very solid and growing Lumber/Building supply and Truss Design and Manufacturing company has an amazing opportunity for a remote Design Manager working with our National Accounts design team. You would be responsible for managing a group of 10 whole-house designers and estimators who support the needs of our 14 component manufacturing locations. Your talents would be used to support daily design and estimating schedules, training and continued education with the team, clear and consistent communication with our customers, and overall leadership to a team of amazing people. This position includes the opportunity to lead the training of new designers on a yearly basis through our exclusive Learning Management System. This position does not require any design responsibilities, but the ability to design Roof Trusses, Floor Trusses, EWP, and Wall Panels is highly preferred. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary for this position.

Responsibilities of the Position:
Managing:
- Manages a group of estimators and designers to deliver whole house designs for multiple manufacturing locations.
- Schedules workloads to each team member to meet deadlines set by business needs.
- Develops Standard Operating Procedures for the National Accounts team and trains on processes.
- Supports design work by checking all products prior to distribution to the market.
Training:
- Leads all efforts to support the maintenance for the National Accounts Learning Management System by gathering content, formatting content for successful learning, and placing content onto the website.
- Provides direction to the Corporate Trainer on training efforts for new National Accounts whole-house designers by writing weekly agenda, course syllabuses, and instruction on using the LMS system.
Support:
- Communicates with estimators, designers, Design Managers, and General Managers to ensure designs are accurate throughout the process. Assists sales teams in responding to questions/concerns from customers.
Requirements
Requirements to be Considered for this Position:
- 5-10 Years of experience designing Truss, EWP, and Wall Panels for Single-Family Custom or Tract Builders.
- 2-5 Years of managing a design team including estimators and designers.
- Previous experience using MiTek truss design software. SE required.
- Previous experience using MiTek Management and the Tract-Master features.
- High level of knowledge in the application of the products being designed.
- Complete understanding of processes including: RFI, Submittals, Production Files.
- Knowledgeable in reading architectural and structural plans.
- Experience working in a multi-location environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Competency in basic mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
