Senior Network Engineer

This is a 1099 Independent Contractor role with no benefits. Compensation is $52/hour. Location is onsite at the client's location in Portland, OR. If you agree to these terms, please proceed with your application

Our client is undertaking the renovation of the communications between their different locations and needs a Senior Network Engineer to collaborate with deployment and tune up of communications to interconnect remote sites.

This role is a hybrid role based in Portland, OR. You will work 3 days in the office and the other 2 days from home.

Contract duration is 12+ months.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Proven experience working with the technologies involved:
a. MPLS
b. Dynamic VPN
c. SDWAN
d. Network security (Firewalls, proxies)
e. Routing protocols: EIGRP, BGP
f. Switching
2. Experience in network engineering, and troubleshooting
3. Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS / NXOS and related technologies
4. Advanced knowledge of Cisco Firewalls, Cisco Routers and Switches
5. Good communication skills both spoken and written
6. Strong Interpersonal Skills.
7. Familiar with Ticketing tools.
8. Excellent team player.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Work with Network Team on the set up and configuration of WAN to interconnect remote sites.
2. The following technologies are involved:
a. MPLS
b. Dynamic VPN
c. SDWAN
d. Network security (Firewalls, proxies)
e. Routing protocols: EIGRP, BGP
f. Switching
3. Most of the field sites consists of Cisco networking devices.
4. Documentation of network systems, Visio Drawings, implementation plans, and handoff documentation.
5. Document activities in progress via weekly status reports, incident reports, logs, etc.
