**Based in Prairie City, OR** Fisheries Technician II. Work under Field Crew Leader to implement projects on the Forrest, Oxbow, and Dunstan Conservation properties, as well as project work for the John Day Watershed Restoration Program on sites throughout the John Day River Basin. Work to include, but not limited to: riparian and upland enhancement projects, installation of spring developments, juniper felling and hand piling, tree planting for up to three months per year, control of noxious weeds using herbicides and mowers, fence repair and building (barbed, smooth wire, and buck and pole), maintain shop and field equipment (ATV s, mowers, tractors, chainsaws, water pumps, etc.). Ability to work outside for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs., walk over up to 4 miles over rough terrain at times, and work under inclement weather. Knowledge and experience of various fence building techniques, ATV/Skid Steer/Backhoe operation, and chainsaw work desired. Work hours are M-F in winter, M-Th (10 hr days) during the field season. Valid drivers license required. Punctuality and a clean driving record are a must. Drug testing to be performed if selected, must be vaccinated & boosted for COVID-19. Must submit and pass criminal background check with Federal, State and Tribal Law Enforcement!
