Nursery Grower (m/w/d) full-time, Amstelveen

As a Nursery Grower, you work at the heart of Infarm, the hydroponic cultivation of our plants. You are responsible for the healthy and precise sowing and cultivation of the plants that then grow in our farms in the city. You follow a rearing plan that ensures that our high quality standards are met. Furthermore, you will work with a variety of plants and constantly expand your knowledge with the help of our research team.

In addition, you are responsible for the packaging of our seedlings and thus ensure that all plants survive the transport through the city in perfect condition.

Responsibilities

• Timely and effective sowing, taking into account the requirements of the individual plants
• Supervision of the germination process - special attention is paid to performance, the detection of diseases or growth deficits
• Seedling selection, labeling and preparation for planting in our farms
• Ensuring quality requirements and documenting possible problems
• Monitoring of the growth process
• You run our nursery and ensure the highest hygiene standards and the right balance of nutrient solution
• You ensure that hygiene, safety and health standards are observed
• You identify potential problems before they occur

Who you are

• Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture or Plant Science
• 3+ years of professional experience in the areas of plant cultivation and a keen interest in vertical farming
• Experience in the field of crop protection as well as extensive knowledge in the fields of biological crop protection and plant nutrition
• You are able to plan long and short term and to actively control your team
• In addition to an eye for detail, you are able to work independently and proactively
• Knowledge of Dutch and English is required
• Available to work on the weekends
