Senior Java Developer with Microservices (Munich)

Company: Our client is Germanys top e-commerce platform visited by 40 million people per month and is in the top 10 websites in the Shopping category in Germany. The firm is growing rapidly, improving the services to the customers, moving its systems to the new technology stack. The company keeps the atmosphere of a small dynamic startup having the resources of a big corporation. 

Most of the technical decisions happen within a team.

Product: The hiring team builds a fintech platform that helps users receive bank financing. From 2014 the development team grew to 30 employees (130 with business). They use lots of data points and use a semantic search for the data processing and search. The app has a monolithic architecture but the transition to partly micro services is in progress.

• Playing an important role helping us transition to micro services, from conception to implementation and rollout.
  
• Backend development of various applications as a member of a cross-functional agile team.
  
• Taking ownership of your tickets, from understanding them, over implementation, to delivery into production.
  
• Taking part in the rotation based process helping track down and fix production issues.
  
• Helping the team to keep the applications technologically up to date.

Requirements

• Experience migrating existing projects to microservice based architecture.
  
• Deep understanding about Spring Boot.
  
• Several years of programming experience as a Java developer of web applications.
  
• Professional experience with JPA and relational databases.
  
• Eager to take ownership.
  
• Passion for excellence.
  
• Software engineering fundamentals.
  
• Fluent written and spoken English (German a plus, not required).
