Job Summary :

Architect API and API Management

Lead the API program by designing, guiding and reviewing development and implementation of the REST based APIs.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with stake holders, namely API Product manager, Product and IT teams, to understand business and technical requirements

Collaborate with Customer Architecture group to align with enterprise architecture principles

Define NFRs, choose best practices and guidelines for implementation team

Define APIM configuration strategy to externalize legacy and modern APIs including policies for security, authentication, aggregation, BFF and monitoring setup

Define standards and methodologies to develop and maintain APIs and API Gateway configurations and policies

Guidance for performance, security, penetration testing

Review API and APIM implementation including versioning, deployment automation, branching strategy

Understand Customer s Current API landscape, tech stack used and other constraints, to provide recommendations for future implementations

Must have

12+ years of IT experience including 3+ years of Architecture experience

Expertise in designing REST APIs and APIM implementations (APIGee)

Experience in asynchronous/multi threaded programming in Java

Experience in designing with Open API 3.0 Specification, Swagger 2.0 specifications

Previous expertise in developing REST APIs with Spring Boot, JAX-RS, HATEOAS principles

Background in Java application development

Experience as agile scrum practitioner and relevant tools

Expertise designing API Security with OAuth2, OIDC, APIM thresholds, OWASP top 10 compliance

Good understanding of Modern API development using REST, GraphQL, gRPC.

Git, Docker, Maven/Gradle, Kubernetes, APIM (Kong, Mulesoft, APIGee or similar)

Excellent written and verbal communication is a must

Preferred

Google Cloud Architect certification Or 2 years of hands on experience architecting with Google cloud including GKE, Cloud Run, App Engine, Cloud Functions, PubSub, Storage, Cloud SQL
