The Finance Manager will plan and manage the accounting operations of the company, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department.
- Responsible for semi-monthly payroll process and all related federal and multiple state payroll filings.
- Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
- Oversees preparation of business activity reports, inventory, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Prepares financial reports; ensures reported results comply with GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year; assists outside CPA with preparation of annual tax return.
- Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
- Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
- Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- Ten years or more of related accounting experience
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant a plus
- Proficient with QuickBooks and payroll tax preparation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; very strong Excel skills
