Software Engineer (m/f/d) @Handshake

Our client Handshake is driven by the mission to give all students a chance to build the career they want, no matter where they re from. Their platform connects upcoming talent with more than 650,000 employers and helps students have equal access to meaningful careers.

Handshake is bringing its mission to Europe, and they want you to be part of their growing development team to democratize opportunity for students in the EU! You will be adapting the core Handshake product to make it work for the European market. This will include developing features for their European education partners to empower their students, to building new student workflows to help them kick-start their early careers.

Tasks

• You get to architect and build new features for a rapidly growing user base.
• You will be involved from design to release, working on a small, multi-functional team with product, design, and engineering teams.
• You ll provide valuable feedback to influence our product and ensure that we are delivering the best experience to our users.
• You ll help maintain a high level of code craftsmanship through thoughtful code review.
• Working with the following technologies: React, TypeScript, Webpack, Redux, Ruby on Rails, Kubernetes, GCP, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, and Airflow.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of professional working experience as a web developer.
• Proven experience with Ruby on Rails and working with cloud infrastructure (GCP is preferred).
• You have an eye for good design and empathy for the customer and appreciation of friendly user experiences.
• You are self-driven and able to prioritize your time.
• You are a problem solver and a critical thinker who can communicate effectively.
