btov's Direct Investment Team is looking for an additional team member (m/f/d) to join our Investment team as an Intern as of January 2023. The duration of the internship should be at least 3 months to make the most of it.

btov has been backing outstanding non-obvious European startups since 2000. Our unfair advantage is the unique combination of dedicated fund teams and Europe's strongest network of Private Investors.

btov's Direct Investment Team works closely with a vibrant community of approx. 200 (ex-)entrepreneurs (#brainstoventures) who not only invest in startups, but also support the btov team to spot, select, win and grow excellent companies. With offices in Berlin, Zurich, and Luxembourg, we manage close to EUR 600m AUM and initially invest from EUR 0.5 to 3.5m. Until today, we have backed 100+ companies around the globe including foodspring, dataArtisans, DeepL, Raisin, Volocopter, SumUp, Finanzcheck, Gitti, GNA Biosolutions and OrCam.

Tasks

Your mission:

Take Europe s strongest network of Private Investors to the next level and help them identify and invest in non-obvious Tech startups.

Your role:

The role combines the privilege of working with leading Private Investors and the attractions of Venture Capital deal-making:

• Support the team in building relationships with the members of btov s Private Investor
  Network and communicate potential investment opportunities
• Work on initiatives to further strengthen the Private Investor Network community, e.g.
  through new event formats and collaboration tools
• Collaborate with btov s fund teams and the Private Investor Network to screen and analyze new and promising early-stage Tech startups
• Conduct industry research and develop new investment hypotheses
• Support in managing investment processes for new and follow-on transactions, ranging from due diligence activities, Investor Onboardings, and investment presentations

Requirements

Your profile:

• You are a community member at 2hearts and have received the 2hearts application password (this can be found on their platform, newsletter, or by reaching out to their team). Please add the password to your CV.
• You are fluent in spoken and written German and English
• You have completed the fourth semester of your studies in business, economics, computer
  science, or have a technical background and achieved outstanding academic results
• You gained operating experience in a startup (preferably Sales or Business Development), banking (wealth management), consulting, or investment firm
• You are passionate about entrepreneurship and have a solid understanding of digital
  business models
• You are a team player and self-starter with superb social skills and humor
• You combine social with analytical excellence, with high attention to detail and a pro-active mindset
• You have excellent MS Office skills, specifically with regard to Excel and PowerPoint
