IoT / Edge Software Engineer (Java, MQTT, docker) for Food-Tech Startup

)We are looking for a Software Engineer experienced with IoT Technologies. You will help build new features for a smart IoT retail solution and maintain the codebase. If you have practical experience with Java, Python and IoT Technologies (Edge to the Cloud) you're the perfect fit for our multicultural team!

Tasks

• Developing containerized applications on the edge (Raspberry Pi) using Java and Python
• Working on our "kiosk controller" software to manage all electronic components locally and communicate with the Google Cloud Platform via MQTT
• Implementing payment terminals, gateways and protocols using ZVT, OPI, MDB
• Quality assurance of the software through planning, creation and execution of tests
• Work with a cross-functional team in Germany to define, build, test, and deploy universal applications
• Version control with Git and continuous integration are part of your daily work

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or comparable field of study
• 5+ years experience in agile software development, Java and Python
• Experience using Docker to create and manage containers
• Experience with IoT device management and message brokers like AMQP or MQTT
• CICD Experience with test and deployment automation (Gitlab, Fastlane, Jest)
• Ability to work cooperatively and independently, analytical thinking, willingness to lead and take on responsibility
• Fluent in English
