The Nephrology and Renal Transplantation Group's interests span a broad field, ranging from immunology, renal replacement therapy, transplantation, chronic kidney disease, including diabetic nephropathy, and regenerative medicine. Our research is primarily translational, collaborative and aimed at improving the care and health of patients with kidney disease. In the area of Regenerative Medicine, our vision is to develop new therapies and treatments for acute and chronic kidney disease by controlling inflammation and activating endogenous regenerative mechanisms or by using renal progenitor cells.
About the role
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher interested in developing his/her activity in the field of regenerative medicine in Nephrology. The researcher will work on recently funded projects focused on developing new treatments to model renal disease through the management of renal progenitor cells in basic research projects as well as in clinical translational research. Work will also be carried out in the area of transplantation. In both cases the research will be carried out in collaboration with leading EU research groups. Examples of recently funded projects: ("Implementation of personalised management in nephrotic syndrome (PER-NEPH), "Addressing progressive interstestitial fibrosis after renal transplantation: role of cellular senescence and iron deposition" (PI21/00931).
