Principal Project Engineer (m/f/d)

Your tasks

As our Principal Project Engineer (m/f/d) you will take over the technical responsibility for the development of our lab automation products and monitor the work progress to ensure timely completion of projects. You will also have the opportunity to use your profound experience to support our team and partners and further develop a motivating environment and cross-functional cooperation.

From ideation to RFP (together with team and partners):

• You outline system requirements and design technical concepts
• You are responsible for the research to drive new hardware product development programs from ideation to production
• You coordinate the prototyping and ideation on component and product level with internal and external stakeholders
• You design technical concepts in order to provide highly competitive bids
• You manage design and preparation of technical RFP documents for all hardware related disciplines
• You clarify technical topics, division of scope, schedule with consultants and external partners

During project execution (together with team and partners):

• You oversee scope and schedule for all engineering disciplines to ensure completion on plan
• You manage engineering related risks and opportunities
• You conduct and integrate over disciplines and contract requirements basic and detail design for complete engineering scope
• You conduct regular design and scope reviews, assure that findings are followed up by corrective actions
• You manage interaction with external partners (customers, consultants, authorities, suppliers etc.) and internal partners on all technical topics

Requirements

• You have successfully graduated Bachelor or Master s Degree in Automation Engineering or similar, and have several years of professional experience in automation
• You have 5+ years of experience in overall technical project management
• You are an expert on CAD tools, preferably with Autodesk or Autodesk Inventor
• You have a solid knowledge of systems engineering processes and methods
• You have a solid understanding of agile principles, preferably with large scale frameworks such as SAFe, LeSS or Scrum of Scrums
• You gathered professional working experience in developing medical product under IVDR or MDR
• You ensure great teamwork with strong problem-solving and effective communication skills
• You are experienced with PLC systems as well as other mechatronic components
• You have an entrepreneurial mindset and a structured way of working
• You have gained leadership capabilities to lead an international engineering team to achieve highest performance results
• You are experienced with documenting your work and decisions in QMS under ISO 13485
• You have very good English and German language skills, both spoken and written
