Description:
- Develops and evaluates new technologies or methods (mechanics hydraulics algorithms software etc.)
- Plans and executes engineering work for product validation and verification of significant parts of major projects or complete projects with well-defined objectives.
- Responsible for problem identification and resolution corrective action tracking reliability analysis and verification/validation test plan development. Is a member of a product/project team.
- Provides guidance on test procedures to engineers and support personnel
- Assist and support production through methods improvement, training, problem-solving, equipment repair, regular maintenance, equipment programming, process/work instruction development for products and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Designs schedules and performs field and/or lab tests to validate new product designs. Analyzes complex test data draws conclusions and summarizes reports acting as liaison between the Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) dept and product engineering.
- Performs analyses of customer data (i.e., warranty Dealer Technical Assistance Center (DTAC) customer satisfaction surveys Early Detection Problem Resolution (EDPR)).
- Plans and performs analytical and experimental work to obtain undefined operating loads and/or develop new test procedures.
- Gives work direction to test operators.
- Assists in developing and coordinating changes to product definition documents.
- Coordinates problem identification activities and tracks corrective action progress.
- Intermediate understanding of the printed circuit board and manufacturing assembly processes with the ability to respond to any common failures in the process with corrective action.
- Provide intermediate technical support to assigned production teams to assist/lead in the resolution of problems during manufacturing.
- Develop and maintain intermediate programs, processes, and assembly procedures for the manufacture of products with limited guidance of engineers.
- Assist/lead in the repair, setup, qualification, and maintenance of intermediate mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic functions for a number of production equipment.
Shift:
- 2nd shift hours, 2p-10p M-F.
Education:
- 2-year Technical Degree - Equivalent technician experience will supplement degree.
Experience:
- Required: Minimum one year of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering
- Preferred: Three or more years of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering
Required Skills:
- Three or more years of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering, SMT Soldering is a plus.
- Mechanical background
- Trouble shooting skills
- Failure analysis
- Basic computer skills
- Self-sufficient to work with minimal supervision.
- Role supports the production floor; technician's group will take tech requests and trouble calls from floor regarding machine or mechanical issues
- Automated equipment for SMT, wave solder, selective solder equipment, robotic/CNC
- Possess effective written and verbal communication skills, enabling correspondence with internal departments, vendors, and customers Working knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheets, and word processing
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and electronic components
- A thorough understanding of equipment and/or manufacturing methods (e.g., multimeters)
- Understanding of troubleshooting methodologies to identify root cause (e.g., Six Sigma)
- Ability to read intermediate engineering documents, e.g., schematics or diagrams
- Maintain necessary product and process records/documentation Ability to comprehend and use product/process component data sheets.
- Ability to assemble and disassemble products /manufacturing equipment
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting to identify root cause
- Ability to maintain semi advanced lab/production equipment
- Ability to perform intermediate mechanical work
- Ability to train a manufacturing technician or production associate
