Executive Director, Springhill Housing Corporation
This position has been recently created. The Executive Director for Springhill is employed by Community Housing Network, which provides various management services to Springhill Housing Corporation and its affiliates. As such, the Executive Director reports to the President of Community Housing Network, and to the volunteer board of directors of Springhill under a management agreement between the two entities. Springhill has no paid staff, but instead, has elected to contract for its various administrative needs through CHN. The Executive Director currently supervises two staff.
Springhill has been in existence for over 25 years and has focused its charitable work on providing housing and other resources for people with disabilities. Springhill has developed a number of scattered site single family residences for people with disabilities, and is trustee of a growing Pooled Accounts Trust, which allows people with disabilities to set aside funds for purchases that enhance their quality of life.
The Executive Director is responsible for achieving the mission and strategic objectives for SHHC as defined by the BOD (and in accordance with the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws). The position is responsible for overseeing the respective administration, programs, and strategic plan.
Key duties include oversight and growth of the Springhill Pooled Accounts Trust ( PAT ), increasing the impact of SHHC s philanthropy, and managing the maintenance and reporting for properties owned and/or managed by SHHC and its related entities.
Essential Functions:
Strategic Leadership
Internal
Leading SHHC and its related entities in a manner that supports and guides the organization s mission as defined by the BOD and outlined in the Strategic Plan.
Communicating effectively with the BOD and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the BOD to function properly and to make informed decisions.
Participate in BOD development.
Responsible for strategic planning to ensure that SHHC can successfully fulfill its Mission into the future.
External
Responsible for the enhancement of SHHC s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic, and private organizations.
Operations Management
Oversight of the services performed by CHN as defined in the management agreements with SHHC (which includes the SHPAT), SHHC owned homes, SHPAT owned homes, sponsored HUD 811s managed entities (collectively the entities ): Elizabeth Lake Housing Corporation ( ELHC ), Laurelton Housing Corporation ( LHC ), Perry Lake Housing Corporation ( PLHC ), and Stoney Creek Housing Corporation ( SCHC )
People Management
Responsible for the hiring, supervising, supporting, developing and retention of qualified staff.
