Component Spray Bay Technician

The Component Spray Bay Technician report to the spray bay supervisor and will be an experienced and skilled technician undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities in the Aircrafts Component Spray Bay, who will be responsible for maintaining airworthiness through appropriate task delegation and authorisation on the component spray activities.

The post holder should be able to demonstrate awareness of broader external dependencies and identify areas for continuous improvement.

Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspection activities on components. Assuring work undertaken is completed in accordance with the work package, using the relevant approved technical information. Resolving faults and maintenance issues, including an awareness of configuration management

Undertaking and completing tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on components, which may include, as appropriate, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and / or functional / system test

Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and takes direction appropriately

Maintaining personal task authorisation for working on components in accordance with QAF requirements

Maintaining a personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, on completion of On the Job training (OJT) activities

Progress reporting against delivery targets to supervisor

Undertaking support tasks within the component spray bay facility which are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and QAF procedures (e.g. oversight checks, control of tooling/test equipment)

Undertaking fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for found faults during maintenance

Recognised apprenticeship with typically 3+ years experience

Requires broad and in-depth product knowledge / competency within own technical / subject area. Awareness of how the team integrates with others in order to achieve the overall objectives of the area and demonstrates an understanding of the requirement for continuous improvement and its application
