Responsibilities:
- Lens Cutting: Utilize lens cutting and edging equipment to shape and size prescription lenses accurately.
- Frame Assembly: Assemble eyeglass frames ensuring proper alignment and fit according to customer prescriptions and preferences.
- Adjustments: Perform adjustments and repairs on eyeglasses to ensure comfort and proper vision for customers.
- Lens Insertion: Carefully insert lenses into frames taking into account the specific requirements of each prescription.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished eyewear products to ensure they meet quality standards and prescription accuracy.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory of eyeglass frames lenses and related optical supplies.
- Customer Interaction: Interact with customers to understand their eyewear needs and provide guidance on frame selection and adjustments.
- Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate optical equipment regularly to ensure accuracy and performance.
- RecordKeeping: Maintain accurate records of customer orders prescriptions and inventory.
Requirements/Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 35 years proven experience as an Optical Technician or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with optical equipment and tools including lens cutting and frame adjustment instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in handling delicate eyewear components.
- Excellent handeye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactions.
- Knowledge of optical principles and lens types is advantageous.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced retail setting.
