Job Description:

• The High Performance Chromatography Solutions business develops and supplies innovative instrumentation, software, and consumables to customers across the globe. Scientists everywhere are using our products and are taking on some of the most meaningful problems in life sciences research and patient diagnostics.

• With the multichannel HPLC instruments developed in the Franklin design center, our customers produce high quality data and answer critical questions faster than ever before!

• Together with product management and engineering colleagues, work to expand and improve our product portfolio. As a crucial member of the R&D product development team, share in our goal of delighting our customers with outstanding, high quality products.
  

A day in the Life

• Learn deeply about the function and application of multichannel HPLC instruments to enable the effective design of application software.

• Propose, architect, and implement application software for laboratory instruments and components.

• Write software specifications based on documented user requirements.
  Solve problems and debug software programs in simulation and on live laboratory instruments for development.

• Provide technical assistance to key internal and external customers.

• Produce timely and complete documentation in accordance with our ISO 13485 design control system and procedures.
  

Education

• Bachelor's or higher-level degree in computer science, engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.

Experience

• Demonstrated ability with five years experience in software engineering and development for laboratory instrument automation.

• Working proficiency in embedded programming using C, C++, or a similar embedded programming language.

• Basic knowledge and experience in interface technologies used for industrial control systems.

• Able to produce maintainable and readable code as part of a development team using a range of source code and change control tools.

• Familiarity with and proficiency in the LabVIEW programming environment is an asset.

• Proven track record of working effectively both independently and within multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural teams.

• Great teammate capable of effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  Traveling occasionally is acceptable to you.
