Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree at 2.1 level (or equivalent)
- Relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g Masters/PhD) (desirable)
- Qualified Disability Practitioner (accredited and internationally recognized)
Experience:
- Minimum of five years relevant work experience.
- In-depth understanding of the requirements of international best practice in terms of Disability support in HE and ‘Reasonable Adjustments’
- Experience of developing strategies for Disability support services, and inclusive practices.
- Experience in the delivery of high standards of customer service within anemployer facing or service delivery environment.
- Experience of leading change management within organisations, influencing cultural change in teams and breaking down barriers to effective working practices.
- Experience of casework management relating to students presenting with complex needs
- An awareness of the range of needs of people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds
- Ability to take responsibility for and work towards resolving complex personal matters including handling situations of students in crisis.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and the delivery of high-quality Disability services
- Knowledge of Higher Education regulations, processes and policies (preferably UK HE)
- Experience of specialist student support in an HE environment (preferably UK HE)
