MidLevel Production Engineering Manager AP1

Boeing is seeking dedicated and experienced MidLevel Production Engineering Managers to lead a diverse team of engineers and firstlevel managers on the Air Proprietary 1 Program in Berkeley MO.

As one of the most cuttingedge aerospace programs in the industry the Air Proprietary 1 Program is at the forefront of innovation and technology pushing the boundaries of what is possible in aerospace engineering. You will play a key role in defining stabilizing and improving the production system by fostering collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines and implementing best practices.

As a Production Engineering Manager you will acquire and allocate resources for departmental activities provide technical management of suppliers and lead initiatives aimed at process improvement. Your ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers stakeholders and team members will be essential in driving operational excellence and achieving strategic goals. You will also be responsible for mentoring and motivating your team ensuring their professional growth and high performance in a fastpaced aerospace environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage employees and firstlevel managers performing engineering and technical activities in Production Engineering.
  • Develop and execute integrated departmental plans policies and procedures.
  • Create and lead a team to execute tooling and modelbased instruction (MBI) release curves.
  • Provide input on departmental business and technical strategies goals and objectives.
  • Acquire resources for department activities and provide technical management of suppliers.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and quality.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers stakeholders and team members.
  • Oversee and approve technical approaches products and processes.
  • Manage develop and motivate employees and firstlevel managers to achieve operational excellence.
  • The ideal candidate will excel in both the engineering technical acumen/excellence required for this role while being an engaging and motivating people leader including committing to:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science.
  • 3 years of experience leading or managing engineering teams.
  • Experience in assembly automation and/or production support.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Masters degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry particularly with military or defense programs.
  • Knowledge of Boeings organizational processes program plans and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability in budget management and business process improvement.
  • Familiarity with critical path methodology and project leadership principles.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Experience with structural repair principles and systems thinking.
  • Existing Valid US Security Clearance.
  • Excellent communications skills verbal and written.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management customers and partners.
  • Ability to build a safe environment of inclusion transparency and trust.
  • Leadership skills to lead and influence positive outcomes.
  • Previous experience in leading mentoring and engaging individuals and teams.
  • Experience providing active mentorship and career guidance.
  • Can uplevel existing team by hiring high performance talent growing leaders and helping underperforming members.
  • Can gain trust of team and provide guidance for their careers.
