Software Development Manager (Nebraska/Iowa)
Our Clientis seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Development Manager to lead our talented team of engineers. This role is based in either Nebraska or Iowa and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our organization. We are looking for a handson leader who is passionate about software development and has a proven track record of delivering highquality products.
About the Role:
As a Software Development Manager you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of software engineers fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. You will play a crucial role in the full software development lifecycle from planning and design to implementation and deployment. This role requires a strong understanding of software development principles and practices as well as excellent communication and leadership skills. Experience with nearshore teams is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers providing guidance support and professional development opportunities.
- Manage the full software development lifecycle ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to define project requirements and priorities.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the technical design and architecture of our software products. This is a handson role where coding and technical understanding are essential.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement encouraging the team to adopt best practices and explore new technologies.
- Manage nearshore team members ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential risks proactively implementing solutions to mitigate issues.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders providing regular updates on project status and progress.
- Contribute to the overall growth and success of the engineering team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field a huge plus OR equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Software Development Manager preferably with experience managing nearshore teams.
- Strong understanding of software development principles and practices including Agile methodologies.
- Must be handson and possess a strong understanding of code regardless of specific language. We are languageagnostic and value a deep understanding of programming concepts and best practices.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire a team of engineers.
- Proven track record of delivering highquality software products.
- Experience with project management tools and techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (if required).
- Must be located in or willing to relocate to Nebraska or Iowa.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ecommerce.
