Job Description

Position Description:

As a Navy ERP Business Analyst you will play a critical role in the collection analysis and presentation of financial data originating from the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (NERP) system.
You will manage and analyze financial data including commitments obligations expenditures and more from various repositories such as the Navy Data Platform (NDP) Advana and Jupiter.
Your responsibilities will include developing processes and tools for data collection conducting financial analyses to evaluate performance and identify trends and packaging data into clear actionable reports.
Additionally you will proactively review and reconcile financial data recommend process improvements and develop standard operating procedures to ensure efficient financial operations.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Data Collection:
Develop processes procedures and tools to gather maintain and provide monthly and cumulative tracking of all financial data associated with Navy and USTRANSCOM funds.
Ensure data collection allows for both aggregated reporting (roll up) and disaggregated reporting (drill down) at various levels including command vessel program and other indenture levels.
Data Analysis:
Conduct financial analyses of raw data collected by applying analytical methods from the field of finance.
Evaluate the efficacy of financial operations and the variance to plan at various indenture levels across the command.
Perform trend analysis to assess changes in performance over time and make recommendations to improve financial performance.
Data Presentation:
Package relevant financial data analysis into an easily understood presentation format as approved by the Contracting Officers Representative (COR).
Adapt presentation formats as needed to meet the requirements provided by Military Sealift Command (MSC).
Data Tracking and Reconciliation:
Proactively review reconcile and provide process improvement recommendations for data tracking and manipulation.
Address current issues relating to both external and internal sources of financial data.
Desk Guide Development:
Capture codify and publish standard operating procedures for common financial transactional tasks for use by MSC personnel.
Access and Security:
Ensure appropriate security badges and access to Navy ERP (NERP) for contractor analysts.
Manage analyze and extract (or import) data residing outside of NERP from repositories such as the Navy Data Platform (NDP) Advana and Jupiter.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelors degree and have at least three 3 years of documented business analyst experience.
The candidate must have documented experience with the Department of Defense Financial Management Regulation (DoD FMR) or a comparable regulation.

Desired qualifications/nonessential skills required:
Navy ERP experience is highly desired
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Applications including Word Excel and PowerPoint.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set level experience relevant training and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for meritbased performance CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $61900.00 $150800.00.
