Job Description

The QA Inspector must partner with manufacturing operations to provide outstanding customer service and quality inspections to meet customer shipment expectations in a Final Assembly Operation. The QA Inspector will be engaged throughout the production process including receiving manufacturing and final inspection. The QA Inspector will interact with the functional areas including Receiving Production Purchasing Engineering and Field Service/Repair to evaluate product Quality problems and when necessary assist in Root Cause Analysis and Preventive Action determination. In this role you will perform documented inspections in the verification of conformance of parts to applicable drawings procedures specifications and all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. The QA Inspector is responsible for the content of the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and project quality plan according to Customers and Flowserves designated specifications and international standards. The QA Inspector reports directly to the QA/QC Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete inspections per detailed inspection plans or Customer Plant Standards
  • Complete final inspections prior to customer delivery
  • Documenting nonconforming material utilizing the NCR process
  • Review RTB job bins to confirm all parts are present and accurate for Assembly
  • Coach technicians with assembly/technicial questions
  • Coordinate product trainings for assembly technicians and teardown technicians
  • Work overtime when needed to process final inspections on outgoing valves including extended workdays weekends and holidays
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Capable of reading and interpreting mechanical machining and assembly drawings
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret bills of materials parts lists and material specifications
  • Ability to review analyze and disposition nonconforming material
  • Familiarity with and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds using proper lifting equipment and perform duties while standing for extended periods of time

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Control valve and actuator experience preferred Fisher Valtek Argus and Kammer product lines a plus
  • Knowledge of the established quality standards laws and regulations of national and international authorities
  • Must have knowledge of inspection equipment generally found in machining assembly and test operations
  • Flexible eager to learn attention to detail analytical with a positive cando attitude
  • Good interpersonal communication (verbal and written) analytical and presentation skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Operational excellence and high level of customer service standard
  • HS Diploma / GED and 57 years of relevant experience
