The Computational Biology group in the Center for Technology and Innovation (CfTI) within the Precision Medicine organization at Amgen is seeking a highly motivated Computational Biologist with expertise in analyzing clinical biomarker data including but not limited to genomics transcriptomics proteomics spatialomics flow cytometry immunoassays and other biomarker assays. In this vital role you will contribute to advancing Amgens clinical programs and studies by integrating computational biology and bioinformatics techniques with biological and clinical data. The ideal candidate will have experience in matrixed environments supporting therapeutic development by providing insights derived from clinical biomarker data. A background in inflammation and immunology rare diseases or cardiometabolic disease is preferred to support key areas of Amgens therapeutic focus.
Support Amgen program/portfolio teams as a biomarker analysis lead.
Development of biomarker analysis plans to support precision medicine evidence generation and reverse translation during clinical development of therapeutic molecules.
Design and execute workflows for biomarker data analysis integrating genomics transcriptomics proteomics imaging and biomarker measure using other assays/platforms to support Amgens early and late clinical development programs.
Lead the analysis and interpretation of clinical biomarker data from various assay platforms including imaging flow cytometry immunoassays transcriptomics proteomics and spatialomics etc.
Design and implement computational algorithms to analyze multiomics multimodal and highcontent data with applications in target engagement evaluation patient stratification response prediction indication selection assay development and diagnostic development.
Work closely with clinical scientists and biomarker leads to extract biological insights from highdimensional datasets and integrate them into reverse translational research and clinical development plans.
Collaborate crossfunctionally with early development teams biostatistics clinical pharmacology clinical biomarker leads and research teams to manage data integration analysis and presentation.

PhD in Bioinformatics Mathematics Computer Science Computational Biology or Data Science with a minor or robust background in Biology
Handson experience in statistical modeling machine learning and AI applied to clinical biomarker and clinical efficacy data.
A strong understanding and practical skills in statistics and their use in data analysis for clinical settings
Proven expertise in analyzing multimodal multidimensional and largescale biological data.
Prior experience working in a matrixed biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting.
Proficiency in R and Python programming with familiarity in various principles for data manipulation and visualization.
Strong understanding of platforms used in clinical biomarker research including flow cytometry immunoassays nextgeneration sequencing (NGS) and proteomics.
Knowledge of immunology autoimmune diseases cardiometabolic disease or oncology and how computational biology can drive drug discovery and development in these areas.
Ability to translate biological and medical questions into analytical models providing actionable results
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex data analyses in diverse settings including crossfunctional team meetings external collaborations and scientific publications.
Strong project management skills and organizational awareness selfmotivation independence and leadership

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant skills experience and qualifications.
