Join Our Team at SYSTRA as a Senior Engineer Bridges
Are you a dedicated and ambitious engineer with a passion for bridge design and project delivery SYSTRA has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our Bridges Engineering team in our Leeds or York office. If you excel in technical expertise leadership interpersonal skills and commercial awareness we want you to be part of our highperformance team.
Focused on the design of highways conventional rail and highspeed rail bridge infrastructure this role also supports various product lines both in the UK and internationally. Based in Leeds or York you will collaborate with UK & Ireland engineers on diverse projects and enjoy the flexibility of hybrid working while occasionally spending time at client offices and onsite.
Missions/Main Duties
Senior Bridge Engineers are responsible for leading the delivery of allocated civil engineering work packages ensuring:
- The identification of key resources and timescales required to deliver projects.
- Leading the development of technical solutions to client requirements.
- Take responsibility for the Preparation of bridge design repair refurbishment or replacement design.
- Preparereportsspecificationsasrequiredinthepreparationofdesignwork.
- Supervisetheproductionofdrawings.
- Plananddeliverbridgesurveysandinspectionsincludingrecordingofallrelevantinformation.
- Completebridgeassessmentcalculationandreporting.
- Representationofthedesignteaminsitebasedrolesprovidingtechnicalsupportduringtheconstructionphase.
- Managedeliveryofprojectstakeresponsibilityforbudgetandresourcedeploymentonprojects.
- Whererequiredtakeresponsibilityforprojectdeliverytoagreedbudgets.
- Whererequiredprepareestimatesforworkitems.
- Identifyscopechangeitems.
- Manageresourcesataprojectleveltoensureutilisationandproductivityismaintained.
Profile/Skills
- A degree in a relevant subject.
Experience working in the highways and rail new bridge design refurbishment and renewals market.
- Experience leading project delivery.
- A high level of numerical and relevant technical software skills.
- Experience in the design and checking of significant bridge new build renewal and refurbishment schemes.
- Mentoring and developing junior staff.
- Chartered or nearly Chartered Engineer status.
- Flexibility in working hours to meet the demands of the role.
- Ability to travel to client sites and other SYSTRA offices as required.
