Your role and responsibilities

The role offers an exciting opportunity to lead highprofile transformation projects and improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

We are looking for a highly motivated Programme Manager to lead and coordinate the SEND Transformation Programme and other key projects within Childrens Services. The role is instrumental in ensuring that programme objectives are met delivering sustainable improvements in services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

You will:

  • lead and coordinate the SEND Transformation Programme ensuring strategic alignment and effective delivery
  • drive planning governance risk management and benefit realisation across multiple projects
  • work closely with the Assistant Director for Inclusion and the SEND Partnership to ensure stakeholder engagement and progress tracking
  • embed sustainable improvements that enhance the quality and accessibility of SEND services
  • provide expert programme management support to colleagues and partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Programme Management Overseeing the delivery of the SEND Transformation Programme ensuring alignment with strategic goals
  • Stakeholder Coordination Engaging with key stakeholders including the Assistant Director for Inclusion local authorities schools and health partners to ensure a joinedup approach
  • Governance and Risk Management Monitoring risks implement mitigation strategies and uphold programme governance
  • Performance and Reporting Tracking programme progress measure benefits realisation and provide structured reporting to key decisionmakers.

You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children and young people with SEND by leading highprofile transformation programmes.

You will need:

  • proven experience in programme or project management ideally within SEND or childrens services
  • a track record of delivering largescale service improvements
  • excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • the ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.

The team

You will be part of the CYP Programmes Team which delivers a range of improvement projects across Children and Young Peoples Services. You will work closely with a Grade 8 Programme Manager (CSC) and a team of project managers and officers across both SEND and CSC transformation programmes. The team is highly collaborative supportive and focused on delivering real change.
