System Validation Engineer (Desktop/Laptop/WS)
THE ROLE:
In this position you will serve as a system engineer for a global operation passionate about validating evaluating and improving end user experience of OEM customer Client PC systems. You will collaborate multifunctionally to define and validate firmware driver BIOS and new OS releases to optimize system performance stability and improve user experience (Net Promoter Score factors) of all latest commercial and consumer OEM systems. In addition you will define and implement competitive analysis identify top improvement opportunities drive corrective actions and prepare reports for review at the Executive level within AMD and with Customers.
Key responsibilities:
Work cohesively with team members and lab leads to develop schedule and test of workstreams to support business objectives
To develop to fine tune test content methodologies automate test and analysis
Review and Analyze test results for anomalies and out of bound conditions drive root cause and corrective actions for such cases
Collaborate with R&D teams on best known configuration (BKC) SW/FW stack and OS updates as well as developing methodologies to evaluate key NPS metrics and use case scenarios
Perform competitive analysis between AMD based OEM systems and targeted competitor platforms
Executive level reporting of key metrics issue resolution actions and top opportunity areas
Required skills:
Minimum of 25 years of relevant working experience in system development or debug. Specific x86 system experience preferred
System validation of hardware platforms and related software ecosystem
Must be wellorganized technically oriented and a selfstarter with a proven track record to work collaboratively and coordinate the activities of geographically distributed technical teams
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills and ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly
Strong verbal written and presentation skills
Quick to adapt to dynamic business and technical requirements
Motivated by working in a fastpaced matrixed organization and multisite environment
Academic credentials:
BS or masters degree in related field preferred
