Assistant Associate Professor Nurse Scientist Non-Tenure Track or Tenure Track

The Orvis School of Nursing seeks a dynamic and highly skilled Nurse Scientist with an established record of clinical scholarship to drive impactful clinical research advance nursing outcomes in acute and subacute care and foster interprofessional scholarship within a tertiary care academic practice partnership. This role integrates clinical expertise with innovative research to enhance patient outcomes and nursing practice through evidencebased approaches.

The Nurse Scientist primarily focuses on undergraduate nursing students education while contributing to graduate and doctoral programs. By delivering direct instruction and mentorship and integrating cuttingedge research into undergraduate curricula they lay a strong foundation for students to bridge theory and practice effectively. This role is a cornerstone in the Orvis School of Nursings commitment to advancing nursing science and improving patient care through research innovation and interprofessional collaboration. The faculty will provide leadership to the Center for Nursing Outcomes Research within the Office of Research and Innovation.

The Nurse Scientist contributions emphasize undergraduate education and include the following:

• Prioritizing undergraduate courses with innovative researchinformed teaching methods.

• Providing mentorship to undergraduate students as well as to doctoral candidates and earlycareer faculty to foster scholarly and professional development.

• Leading curricular initiatives that integrate research findings into undergraduate nursing practice.

This role highlights dedication to advancing undergraduate nursing education while supporting students and faculty across all academic levels.

Faculty rank (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) will be determined commensurate with qualifications and experience including the option of an Endowed Professorship. This position is for a B3 12month contract nontenure track OR tenuretrack position.

Required Qualifications

• PhD in nursing clinical research or other relevant researchfocused doctoral preparation. A graduate degree in nursing (PhD DNP or MSN) is required.

• Minimum of five years of acute care nursing experience.

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nevada or eligible for licensure in Nevada.

• Proven success in grant writing with a preference for securing and managing NIH PCORI or similar funding sources.

• Strong analytical statistical and research skills with experience in diverse methodologies.

• Demonstrated leadership team building and project management abilities.

• Flexibility and openness to guided research and collaboration aligned with institutional and clinical priorities.
