Job Description
Torch Technologies is seeking a highly motivated experienced and innovative Software Engineer to join our team in the support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Office (DES) team. This role involves developing and maintaining advanced software tools aimed at enhancing analysis productivity and data management. You will work with crossfunctional teams to design implement and optimize solutions that drive operational efficiency and improve user experience. In this role the Software Engineer will leverage AI tools and technologies to enhance software development efficiency and quality. In this role you will integrate AIdriven solutions into the development process using tools such as GitHub Copilot ChatGPT and automated code generation frameworks to accelerate coding debugging testing and deployment.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize AIpowered development tools to enhance software design coding and debugging.
- Develop test and deploy software solutions while leveraging AI for code suggestions and optimizations.
- Automate repetitive development tasks using AIdriven coding assistants.
- Integrate AIenhanced analytics for performance monitoring and debugging.
- Collaborate with engineers data scientists and product managers to improve AIassisted workflows.
- Stay updated with the latest AIassisted development tools and best practices.
- Ensure AIdriven code adheres to best practices security standards and performance benchmarks.
- Experiment with AIdriven test automation frameworks to improve software reliability. Develop and maintain software tools for analysis productivity improvement and data management.
- Administer and customize Jira Confluence and SharePoint for efficient project and content management.
- Design and develop applications and user interfaces with a focus on usability and user experience.
- Create and optimize process workflows to streamline operations.
- Collaborate with team members to gather requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Participates in and presents findings at working group meetings coordination meetings peer reviews and other technical interchange meetings.
- Design develop and build functional SharePoint sites that are easy to use and user friendly by collaborating with staff on layout design build and implementation.
- Update site content to keep pages up to date as required.
- Experienced with System Engineering Process; collecting and developing requirements to ensure collaborative activity permissions workflows and site configurations are implemented cohesively within the software development environment.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to develop and implement software solutions that support MDA initiatives.
- Develop test and maintain software applications using various programming languages.
- Assist in the development of PlugIns and enduser interfaces (HMI/API development).
- Utilize UML and/or SysML in software design and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science a related field or equivalent experience.
- 5 years applicable softwareengineering experience.
- Experience using AIpowered coding tools like GitHub Copilot ChatGPT or Tabnine.
- Strong understanding of software development principles algorithms and data structures.
- Ability to work in an agile development environment and collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
- Strong problemsolving skills and willingness to experiment with AIdriven development. Proven experience with Jira Confluence and SharePoint.
- Experience in user interface design and process workflow design.
- Detailoriented with a focus on delivering highquality solutions.
- Strong problemsolving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience working with both development staff and end users.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow PyTorch or OpenAI APIs.
- Experience with programming languages and frameworks including UML C C# JSON HTML JavaScript CSS GIT lab SQL EF OO Framework REACT REDUX Google Web Toolkit Sonar Cube PowerBI GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT.
