Job Description
Overview
Under general supervision provides basic lawn care snow removal and grounds maintenance for the Memorial Health System. Assists with procedures instructions and completing individual assignments. Embodies the Memorial Health System Values of Safety Integrity Quality and Stewardship that support our mission and vision.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
- Valid Illinois drivers license is required and the incumbent must be deemed as an acceptable driver in accordance with the MHS Fleet Safety Policy. Five year MVR will be required
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience in grounds and lawn maintenance preferred.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic operation of lawn and snow removal equipment.

- Provide care of grounds which includes: mowing snow removal raking leaves watering fertilizing edging planting of grass and flowers trimming dethatching lawn painting as required and parking lot stripping.
- Maintains external appearance of Memorial Health System by cleaning driveways parking areas entrances and disposing of trash.
- Remove snow by snow plow shovel squeegee snow blower or other approved methods.
- Transport materials/equipment by hand dolly or truck to work site.
- Interact with hospital colleagues and patients/visitors in a courteous and cooperative manner.
- Perform pre startup inspection of power equipment and minor repairs of grounds equipment and tools.
- Maintains appropriate dress and appearance projecting a positive image of Memorial Health System.
- Consistently follows all safety procedures/policies in completing work assignments.
- Performs other related work as required or requested.
