Profile Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting with 3 years experience.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Xero and MYOB and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles financial analysis and internal controls.
  • Excellent analytical problemsolving and communication skills; attention to detail and ethical conduct.
  • A willingness to learn and use different trust account software such as PropertyMe PropertyTree etc.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Core responsibilities:

  • Bank Reconciliation Review: Verify the accuracy of bank reconciliations for trust accounts. Review bank statements to accounting records and identify discrepancies. Ensure that reconciliations are completed on a timely basis and in accordance with applicable guidelines.
  • Payment and Receipt Analysis: Audit trust account payments to confirm they are properly authorized and recorded. Review receipts to ensure they are accurately documented and deposited into the correct accounts.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of audit procedures and findings. Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings discrepancies and recommendations. Present audit results to the reviewer and director as needed.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with accountant and real estate agent and other stakeholders to gather information and clarify issues.
  • Timely Completion: Complete each trust account audit within the expected timeframe.

NOTE: This is a permanent remote position structured as an Independent Contractor arrangement. Selected candidates must have their own equipment and reliable internet connection. Additionally they will be responsible for managing their own taxes and benefits. Compensation is offered on a biweekly basis.
