About The Position:

As a Senior Platform Engineer you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure implementing robust backup and disaster recovery solutions and streamlining our deployment processes. Your proficiency in AWS services infrastructure automation tools and configuration management will be essential in ensuring the reliability scalability and security of our platform. Additionally your experience in programming languages code restructuring bug fixing code optimization Linux systems crosscloud platforms and database management will contribute significantly to our platforms success.

The role will be based in Europe. Core working hours for this role are 9:00am5:00pm CET /2 hours).

What Youll Be Responsible For:

• Manage and optimize AWS services.
• Take ownership of managing databases and application infrastructure.
• Design and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning configuration and deployment processes.
• Implement and maintain configuration management.
• Collaborate with development teams to implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide expertise in Linux operating systems.
• Manage and maintain Kubernetes clusters.
• Implement and configure monitoring and observability tools.
• Utilize scripting languages for automation tasks.
• Understand network security concepts.

What Youll Bring to Maropost:

• Bachelors degree in computer science Engineering.
• 5 years of handson experience as a data or software engineer.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Perl PHP Ruby or Go.
• Knowledge of networking protocols security standards and best practices.
• Proficiency in infrastructure automation tools.
• Solid understanding of Linux operating systems.
• 3 years of experience in implementing advanced indexing strategies query optimization techniques and database tuning methodologies for MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Hands on experience with tech stack PERL PHP and MYSQL
• Extensive experience working on Perl and PHP applications.
• Indepth knowledge in architecting and optimizing largescale database clusters.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and message queuing systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes and writing YAML manifests for deployment and configuration management.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
• Familiarity with network security concepts.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred:

• 3 years of experience in independently managing databases and application infrastructure.
• Handson experience of at least 3 years in designing and implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Proficiency of at least 3 years in writing and maintaining automation scripts for infrastructure tasks.
• Previous involvement of at least 2 years in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Direct experience of at least 3 years with Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Practical knowledge of at least 2 years in managing Kubernetes clusters and writing YAML manifests.
• Demonstrated experience of at least 2 years in configuring and utilizing monitoring and observability tools effectively.
• Proficient for at least 3 years in optimizing database performance through advanced indexing strategies query optimization and tuning methodologies.
• Previous exposure of at least 2 years to distributed systems and message queuing systems.
• Handson experience of at least 2 years with network security tools and concepts including VPNs firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
