Heres how a Field Engineer for our civil office located in Tampa FLcontributes to our team:
Responsibilities
Field Operations:
- Assistswith surveying testing sample collection drawing correction and filing check material deliveries
- Assistswith time keeping and cost control inventory control schedule checking subcontractor monitoring
- Assistswith report preparation safety inspections submittal logging and processing
- Observes and reportsresults of meeting conducting site tours for visitors
- Able to measure and confirm quantities
- Order materials as required by the project
- Other duties as assigned
Office Operations:
- Preparesquantity takeoffs calling vendors and subcontractors for proposals
- Checksdrawings and specifications for completeness discrepancies etc
- Attendsbid opening conferences etc and taking notes making records completing forms
- Assistswith project record keeping preparing shop drawings assisting with cost control records
Project Management:
- Assistsproject managers and superintendents at as high a responsibility as practical
- Coordinatessubcontractor activities verifying work and recommending progress payments inspecting
- Obtainspermits and licenses checking zoning and code requirements designing temporary facilities
- Arrangesutility services conducting safety inspections and training supervise punchlist activities
- Expeditesmaterial deliveries assisting in documenting and preparing claims
- Verifieswork hours materials and other elements necessary for updating database files
- Preparesbriefing chart and formal reports etc
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Environmental Engineering or Construction Management
- 13 years of relevant experience
- Internships or experience in water infrastructure construction highly preferred
