Community Center Supervisor
Supervises events or programs at Yancey School Community Center Greenwood Community Center or Meadows Community Center.
Essential functions:
Qualifications:
General knowledge of the operation of a community center; general knowledge of recreation and related rules and regulations. Ability to maintain order in a public facility; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants coworkers and the general public and the ability to work independently. Working knowledge of custodial and maintenance care of buildings
Physical Conditions and Nature of Work Contacts:
Work requires strenuous physical tasks including bending stooping lifting and carrying items weighing 20 50 pounds. Regular contact with office personnel other staff members and Community Center patrons.
Salary Range:
The hiring range for this position is $18.00 $20.00 per hour. Starting offer is based on applicable education beyond minimum requirements and internal equity. This is a parttime temporary FLSA nonexemptposition.Internal candidates will receive pay adjustments in accordance with Local Government Personnel PolicyP60.
Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by experience in building maintenance and custodial practices. At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in the Parks and Recreation field or any equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience providing the knowledge abilities and skills cited above.
Special Requirements:
Possession of a valid drivers license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia
