The Security Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal agency and industry security protocols for a government contract. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing and managing background investigations and related security processes. This position requires strong attention to detail understanding of security protocols and proficiency in handling sensitive information.
Responsibilities:
Complete and maintain certification in eQIP (Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing).
Review background investigation documents and ensure accuracy and completeness.
Capture fingerprints via manual methods or electronic systems.
Initiate background investigations (Tiers) using eQIP/eApp systems.
Reference CVS (Central Verification System) JPAS (Joint Personnel Adjudication System) and DISS (Defense Information System for Security) to review prior investigations and adjudication records.
Adhere to established federal agency and industry security protocols orders and directives.
Maintain records and documentation in accordance with agency policies.
Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures and support audits and inspections.
Experience Substitutions:
High School Diploma 4 additional years of experience Bachelors Degree
Bachelors Degree 2 additional years of experience Masters Degree
Masters Degree 2 additional years of experience Ph.D.
Education Substitutions:
Ph.D. may be substituted for 2 years of required experience with a Masters Degree or 4 years with a Bachelors Degree.
A Masters Degree may be substituted for 2 years of required experience with a Bachelors Degree.
A Bachelors Degree may be substituted for 4 years of required experience with a High School Diploma.
Skills & Certifications:
Must have eQIP certification.
Knowledge of security investigation systems such as CVS JPAS and DISS.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information and adhere to strict confidentiality standards.
Clearance Requirements: Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance in accordance with government contract requirements.
Work Location: As required by contract; remote or onsite at government facility.
