The postdoc will be expected to develop a machine learning model to identify the topographic signature of tree throws in lidar data and use the model to understand climatic and geologic controls on tree throw production. Additional work could include using a dronebased lidar to field map tree throws and developing landscape evolution models to quantify how tree throw impacts landscape form. The position is for one year with the opportunity of renewal depending on progress and funding availability. The expected start date is June 1 2023 but is negotiable.
