Job Description

The Opportunity

As a result of our continued growth we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Education & Employment Solicitor to join our team in Brisbane. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of talented solicitors and support staff and further develop your skills and career within a fun and supportive work environment.

You will be part of a dynamic team with direct access to 2 Principals and have the opportunity to develop your skills across all front and backend employment law matters.

Key Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of this role include:

  • Representing employers in employmentrelated disputes such as unfair dismissal discrimination and general protections claims including at conciliation conferences;
  • Drafting and negotiating legal agreements such as employment contracts independent contractor agreements and deeds of settlement as well as drafting and reviewing workplace policies;
  • Responding to regulatory investigations;
  • Assisting with workplace investigations;
  • Providing employment law support for commercial transactions;
  • Working with education clients providing advice on child safety and mandatory reporting obligations.
  • Assisting with and attending marketing and business development activities;
  • Managing client relationships and providing highquality service to clients;
  • Mentoring and supervising law clerks and support staff as well as assisting with team management and;
  • Working collaboratively with other teams in the firm.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 12 years post admission experience with experience across a broad range of employment law matters.
  • Previous experience in advising clients in the education sector is desirable but not essential.
  • A commercial mindset with a focus on delivering practical and commercially sound advice to clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and work collaboratively with other solicitors and support staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering highquality work.
