Description
Fyda Freightliner Columbus is an Elite Support Certified dealer of new Freightliner trucks and Crane Carrier vocational severeservice vehicles and carries a large inventory of allmakes of preowned trucks. Fyda Freightliner Columbus is the largest retailer of new and used Expediters in the United States. Serving the Columbus transportation industry hub since 1985 we operate as a fullservice commercial truck dealership and body shop.
The primary duties of a Diesel Technician include performing diagnostic tests to find faults analyzing diagnostic results and making necessary repairs.
- Running diagnostic tests on vehicles.
- Analyzing diagnostic test results.
- Replacing vehicle engines steering mechanisms transmissions and braking systems ETC
- Checking vehicle lighting systems.
- Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.
- Performing preventative maintenance.
- Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.
- Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
- Maintaining a parts inventory.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent required
- Heavy Duty Diesel Technician experience
- Clean Valid Drivers License
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. Specifically:
- Must be able to walk stand kneel crouch reach and lift.
- Physically fit and able to lift 100 pounds
