Responsibilities
Position Summary
Operates fabricating machines to create structural steel products used in industrial automation.
- Operates fabrication shop and machine shop machinery and equipment such as cutoff saws shears rolls brakes presses forming machines spinning machines and punches to cut shape and bend metal plates sheets tubes and structures
- Reads job specifications and blueprints to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
- Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale rule or template
- Positions workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade
- Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation
- Detects workpiece defects and machine malfunctions
- Removes burrs sharp edges rust and scale from workpiece
- Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines die or workpieces
- Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifukus QMS policies and procedures.
- Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 1 year of related experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge of standard and metric measurements
- Knowledge of quality assurance and selfinspection techniques
- Selfmotivated and detailoriented
- Team orientation
- LOTO certification required
- Crane operation certification required
- Forklift operation experience preferred but not required
