Job Description
Job Title: Adjunct Professor of Health and Human Performance
Reporting Relationship: Chair Health and Human Performance
Unit: IWUMarion
Department: Health & Rec DivIWUM
Campus Location: Recreation & Wellness Center
Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend and lead all required class sessions
- Promptly assess student coursework and submit via the universitys learning management system
- Coordinate with Division Chair and/or Academic Dean regarding classroom or student issues in a timely manner
- Provide input into course curriculum as appropriate
Qualifications:According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Education
- Candidates will ideally hold a graduate degree in the field of athletic training exercise science physical education and/ or recreation/ sports management
- Substantial professional experience within the content area to be taught may be considered in lieu of a masters degree
Experience
- Candidates must demonstrate a record of teaching scholarship service and dedication to the ideals of liberal learning
- Articulation of an educational philosophy on the centrality of Jesus Christ with the intention to integrate their faith with learning is imperative
Required Skills
- Candidates will possess skills in effective oral and written communication and pedagogy; creativity and criticalanalytical thinking; curriculum design and development; instructional technology; organization and planning; time management; and interpersonal interaction.
